About BioVis

A small, independent laboratory focused on bacterial endotoxin testing.

Why BioVis Exists

Endotoxins are everywhere — in the water we drink, the air we breathe, and on the surfaces and materials we handle every day. Invisible and odorless, they rarely make headlines, yet even trace amounts can compromise the integrity of laboratory materials and research results.

As research peptides and reconstituted laboratory materials have grown more common, so has the need to know what's actually in the vial. Too often, endotoxin contamination goes unmeasured — a risk that's simple to detect.

BioVis was founded to change that. Our mission is to raise awareness of endotoxins and put real, standards-based testing within reach — at a price that doesn't require a big-company budget.

Whether you're validating a single vial of BAC water, screening a batch of research peptides, or checking buffers, media, and raw materials before they reach your bench, BioVis delivers clear, USP <85>-based results with straightforward, quote-based pricing and personal attention on every sample. No minimums to fight through, no faceless queue — just answers you can trust.

Because knowing what's in your sample shouldn't be a luxury.

BioVis LLC is a small, independent laboratory dedicated to one discipline: bacterial endotoxin testing. Our testing follows USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test methods using Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL).

We work mainly with bacteriostatic (BAC) water and peptide samples. Every job is quoted individually based on your samples and needs.

  • MethodsUSP <85> LAL: gel-clot and kinetic chromogenic
  • EquipmentCharles River Endosafe® PTS™ (cartridge-based kinetic chromogenic) and gel-clot LAL methods
  • FocusPrimarily bacteriostatic (BAC) water and research peptides. Also: purified/laboratory water, buffers and reagent solutions, cell culture media and supplements, raw materials and excipients, lab consumables (rinse extracts from vials, tubing, containers), and other aqueous samples on request.
  • PricingQuoted individually for every job

All BioVis testing is analytical and for research use only. Research peptides are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for human or animal use. Our results report measured endotoxin levels only — they do not establish that any product is safe, effective, or suitable for consumption, and should never be used as a basis for human or animal use.

How It Works

A simple four-step process.

1

Submit a Request

Complete the quote request form with details about your samples.

2

Receive a Quote

You get a quote number (BV-Q-…) and a verification email. When your quote is issued, accept it through the secure link in your email to get a PO number.

3

Ship Samples

Once your PO (BV-PO-…) is issued, ship samples following the instructions we send, labeled with your PO number.

4

Lot Numbers & Results

BioVis assigns a unique lot number to every sample we receive; it appears on your Certificate of Analysis and is used to look up and verify your results. Results are typically posted within 24–48 hours of testing; look up and verify them anytime on Verify Results. See the full Sample Journey.

Sample Journey: From Our Door to Your Results

What happens to every sample after it arrives at BioVis.

  1. 1

    Receipt Check

The sender's name and mailing address on the package are verified against the PO.

  2. 2

    Unboxing & Inspection

Packages are opened in a dedicated receiving area, separate from the testing room. Contents are inspected and photographed to document their condition on arrival.

  3. 3

    Clean Room Entry

Each sample's outer surfaces are sprayed with 70% isopropyl alcohol before it enters the clean room.

  4. 4

    Lot Sealing

Every sample receives a tamper-evident seal bearing its unique BioVis lot number.

  5. 5

    Temperature Equilibration

Samples are stored until they reach the temperature required by their test method.

  6. 6

    Testing

Each test is performed to the method's precise measured requirements for the most accurate results possible. If a confirmation retest is needed, it's performed at no additional cost.

  7. 7

    Results

Results are reviewed and posted online under your lot number, typically within 24–48 hours.

Leftover material: Most tests leave extra sample material. Any remaining material is disposed of safely in accordance with standard laboratory waste practices.

Sample Requirements

No minimum order — submit one sample or one hundred.

Vials per Product

Send at least one sealed, unopened vial per product and lot for endotoxin testing. If your samples need more, we'll tell you when we send your quote.

Volume

Volume needs depend on the sample type and method. Contact us for volume requirements, or describe your samples in the quote form and we'll confirm.

Labeling

Label every vial with its sample name/ID and lot number, matching what you entered on your quote request. Label the outside of the package with your PO number (BV-PO-…) and include a printed copy of your PO confirmation. You may still label vials with your own lot/ID and the PO number.

BioVis lot numbers: BioVis assigns a unique lot number to every sample we receive; it appears on your Certificate of Analysis and is used to look up and verify your results.

Packaging

Keep vials sealed in their original containers. Pack them securely with cushioning so they can't break or leak in transit.

Shipping

Shipping instructions and the receiving address come with your quote. Please don't ship samples before you've received a quote. You are responsible for following all applicable regulations for shipping and handling samples.

BioVis Lot Numbers
